Details of the Touch HD, HTC’s next Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro smartphone have emerged, and while little is currently known for sure about the handset, it’s shaping up to be the next big thing in 3G.  The Touch HD is based on a Qualcomm 7201A CPU running at 528MHz, with 512MB ROM and 256MB RAM.  The Touch HD’s processor itself also has a built-in 32MB capacity.  Most impressively, the Touch HD has a WVGA touchscreen display.

Measuring a compact 115mm x 62.8mm x 12mm, navigation on the Touch HD is totally stylus based.  The Touch HD has no D-pad or scroll-wheel, and only minimal hardware controls.  HTC haven’t skimped on connectivity, however; the Touch HD has HSDPA and WiFi for high-speed browsing, together with GPS.  You’ll also find a 5-megapixel camera on the Touch HD.

The Touch HD is expected to be in stores by Christmas.  It will have a microSD slot for memory expansion and music fans will be pleased to hear that the Touch HD has a 3.5mm headset on the top of the smartphone.  Power is via a 1350mAH battery, though battery life is still uncertain.  Expect to hear plenty more about this impressive looking smartphone, the Touch HD from HTC, very soon!
